Lake Kawaguchiko Photo Walk: Seeing Mt. Fuji from Every Angle

Hi, it’s Daichi from KOKO Journey.
The other day, I decided to go for a walk along the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko. My route started around the Ubuyagasaki area to Oishi Park.
It takes about 50 minutes to an hour to walk the whole way, which is the perfect distance for a nice, relaxing stroll. Seeing how Mt. Fuji changed its look with every single step was totally worth the walk.
By the way, every single photo you see in this post was taken by me during this walk (guests pics are when I was on a tour).
No stock photos here, just the real views I saw with my own eyes. I have also added Google Maps links for each spot so you can find them easily. Let’s get into it!
Ubuyagasaki Area

This was my starting point. Ubuyagasaki is a great place to begin because you get a really nice view of Mt. Fuji together with the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. If you get lucky and the water is perfectly still, you can see the “Inverse Fuji” reflected on the lake.

Walking Along the Lakeside
As you keep walking away from Ubuyagasaki toward Oishi Park, you will find yourself on a quiet walking path along the lake. There isn’t one specific “famous viewpoint” here, but honestly, the whole trail is one big photo spot.
Every few minutes, the angle of Mt. Fuji changes slightly, and you get to see a brand-new perspective.

The angle of the mountain started to shift. It was nice to just sit for a minute and enjoy the view away from the crowds.

Oishi Park
After about an hour of walking and snapping photos, you will finally make it to the last stop: Oishi Park. It is a nice 50-to-60-minute walk from the Ubuyagasaki area, and arriving here on foot makes the final view feel even better.

Conclusion
Walking this route really reminded me how much fun it is to slow down and just enjoy the scenery. Mt. Fuji looks completely different depending on where you stand, and you miss so much when you just drive by.
If you love walking and taking photos, I highly recommend trying this lakeside route. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes! Which angle was your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
