May is one of the most comfortable seasons around the Mt. Fuji area. The cold winter air is gone (finally!), and the whole region starts to feel colorful and alive again.

Around Kawaguchiko and the Fuji Five Lakes area, flowers begin to bloom with brighter colors. You can see pink, yellow, purple, and white flowers near the lakes, and in local parks. Even small gardens and quiet streets start to look beautiful during this season.

At the same time, the fresh green leaves become much deeper and richer in color. The forests around Mt. Fuji turn vibrant green, creating a strong contrast with the mountain itself. On clear days, the combination of blue sky, green trees, colorful flowers, and Mt. Fuji creates amazing scenery.

One of the nice things about May is that the weather is usually mild. It is not too hot yet, which makes it a great season for walking, sightseeing, cycling, or simply relaxing near the lakes!
