Where Can I Take a Photo of Starbucks with Mt. Fuji? | The Best Starbucks for Mt. Fuji Photos: Access & Tips

Hi! It’s Daichi from KOKO Journey.
If you’re looking for the Starbucks photo with Mt. Fuji, there are two main areas to know: the Yamanashi side and the Shizuoka side.
The Yamanashi side (around Kawaguchiko) is closer to Mt. Fuji and offers those iconic, up-close views of the mountain—perfect for that classic Japan shot.
The Shizuoka side is a bit farther away, but you can capture a wider scene with the city and Mt. Fuji in one frame.
In this guide, let me show you the best Starbucks locations on both sides.
Yamanashi Pref. Side | Mt. Fuji and Starbucks spot
If you’re staying around Mt. Fuji, the Yamanashi side is where the mountain really feels like part of everyday life. This is also where you’ll find the Fuji Five Lakes—including Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko)—one of the most popular areas for visitors staying near Mt. Fuji.
Recommended spot: Starbucks Fujiyoshida

Here is a video I shot.

If you want to take a photo of a Starbucks with Mt. Fuji in the background, Starbucks Fujiyoshida is a great choice.
From this area, Mt. Fuji feels nice and close, and on clear days you can see it clearly from around the store. It’s not a special viewpoint or observatory—just a regular roadside Starbucks—but that’s actually what makes it feel more local and natural.
Since it’s not a major tourist spot, it’s usually easier to take photos without crowds.

Not ideal for the “Starbucks + Fuji” shot: Starbucks Fuji-Q Highland
In Fujiyoshida city there is another Starbucks, located inside Fuji-Q Highland, a popular amusement park.
While you can catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji from certain areas in the park, it’s generally not a great spot for photography. Buildings, rides, and other structures tend to block the view, making it difficult to get a clean “Starbucks + Mt. Fuji” composition.
It’s a fun place to visit—but if your main goal is taking “Mt. Fuji × Starbucks” photo, the Fujiyoshida store is a better choice then.
Address: 5-6-1 Shinnishihara, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi 403-0017, Japan
Shizuoka Pref. Side | Mt. Fuji and Starbucks spot
Shizuoka is the opposite side of Yamanashi, facing the Pacific Ocean. It’s known for more open, distant views of the mountain, often seen from highways and coastal areas.
Starbucks Fujikawa Service Area (Downbound)
Here is the famous one in Shizuoka.
Starbucks Fujikawa Service Area (Downbound) sits inside the service area along the Tōmei Expressway and is famous for its clear, panoramic views. Its elevated, open setting makes it one of the top spots people recommend for a “Starbucks × Mt. Fuji” photo—easy to see why it’s so popular.
If you’re heading toward Shizuoka—for example to the coast or even down toward Nagoya—you’ll likely be using the Tōmei Expressway, so it’s an easy and natural stop along the way. Only accessible by car.
