Learn Japanese with a Local – Private Lessons Online or in the Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi Area

If you’re planning a trip to Japan, learning a little Japanese can make your experience much more enjoyable.
Even simple phrases can help you connect with locals, order food more comfortably, and feel more confident while traveling.
That’s why I offer private Japanese lessons for travelers and learners around the world.
Whether you want to prepare before visiting Japan or practice while you’re here, lessons are available online or in person in the Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi area.
Why Learn Japanese Before Your Trip?

Many visitors to Japan are surprised by how different daily communication can feel compared to other countries.
While people in large cities like Tokyo may speak some English, in smaller areas English is not always common. Learning a few key phrases can make everyday situations much easier.
For example, it can help when you:
- Order food at local restaurants
- Ask for directions
- Shop in smaller stores
- Talk with locals during your travels
Even basic Japanese can completely change how you experience the country.
Lessons Designed for Travelers and Learners

My lessons are designed to be practical, relaxed, and personalized.
Instead of memorizing long grammar lists, we focus on language that you can actually use in real situations.
Lessons can include:
- Useful travel phrases
- Natural pronunciation practice
- Basic grammar and sentence building
- Everyday conversation practice
- Cultural expressions and etiquette
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already studying Japanese, lessons are tailored to your level and goals.
Online or In-Person Lessons
Lessons are available online from anywhere in the world, which is perfect if you want to prepare before visiting Japan.
If you happen to be traveling around the Mt. Fuji or Lake Kawaguchi area, we can also arrange in-person lessons.
Learning Japanese while actually being in Japan can be a fun and memorable experience.
A Little About Me
My name is Daichi, and I run a local tour service called KOKO Journey in the Mt. Fuji area.
I’ve taught Japanese to students in Canada and Australia, and I enjoy helping learners understand not only the language but also the culture behind it.
One thing that may surprise you is that I couldn’t speak English at all until I was 20 years old.
I started studying English as an adult, so I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. I know what it feels like to struggle with pronunciation, vocabulary, and confidence when speaking.
Because of that experience, I try to create lessons that are supportive, relaxed, and encouraging. My goal is to help students feel comfortable practicing Japanese and to enjoy the learning process.
