Where is the Famous Lawson with the Mt. Fuji View Located? A Local’s Guide

If you’re planning a trip to the Fuji Five Lakes area—such as Lake Kawaguchiko or Fujiyoshida—you’ve probably seen the iconic photo of Mt. Fuji perfectly framed behind a Lawson convenience store.
As a local living in Fujiyoshida, I often see tourists get confused because there isn’t just one Lawson. In fact, there are two popular ones near Kawaguchiko Station.
If you want the best photo spot and overall experience, here’s the one I recommend.
There are TWO Famous Lawsons
Most travelers don’t realize that there are two specific Lawson locations people talk about. Both are near Kawaguchiko Station, but they offer very different experiences.
1. Lawson Kawaguchiko Station (The Crowded One)
This Lawson is the one closest to Kawaguchiko Station, so it’s almost always packed.
Getting a clean photo is tough. There are usually lots of other tourists around, and traffic here can be pretty busy.
2. Lawson Fujikawaguchiko Town Hall (The Recommended One)

This is the one I recommend: Lawson Fujikawaguchiko Yakuba-mae, located about a 15-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station. (just 3 mins by car)
While it’s still a very famous photo spot, it is much more spacious than the Lawson right next to the station. Because it requires a short walk, the crowds are usually more manageable. This is also the spot where Mt. Fuji looks truly massive behind the iconic Lawson blue.
